As usual, I'm bemoaning the fact that I haven't blogged regularly. Here it is at the end of November already with our first big snowfall of the season.
First: knitting has been happening.
I finished a fantastic glitzy scarf that I love wearing. It's very soft and warm, perfect for our winter weather. Here it is:
My daughter saw my purple Central Park Hoodie while visiting in July and whined and cried for one. The result: a soft, royal blue one just for her:
One of my knitting buddies found a cute Ninja Turtle kit hiding out at one of the thrift stores and picked it up for me. My niece-in-law had mentioned she'd love such a sweater for my dear great-nephew (her son). I finally finished it this month and he'll be getting it for his birthday on January 1.
Back in early fall, my friend Ann & I drove up north for an hour to a small town with an ancient yarn store that was closing. All the yarn was 50% off or better. I found some wonderful Pinguin wool tweed, one lot will be enough for a sweater(brown), and I'm not sure what I'll do with the blue.
I picked out an early Christmas gift for myself (from Ken) and am slowly getting used to it. (The tablet, not the Teddy)
I've been having fun with the wildlife that's been making our backyard home, particularly a flock of Hungarian Partridges. As much as I'd love to show you a picture or two of them, they're very flighty and shy. The most I can offer is footprints and trails. They are very cute (the birds, not the footprints).
Another regular is our brown bush bunny who seems to like eating birdseed along with the rabbit pellets I've been leaving out for him/her. At least this one doesn't bolt when we come outside.
We also have Blue Jays, Chickadees, a couple of Nuthatches and woodpeckers.
On the off chance that I might not post before Christmas, have a good one and a Happy New Year!
